Bruce Fordyce 2013
Bruce participated in the 21.1km race in 2013.
His time was 1:36:09 in the 55 - 59 Male category. Bruce also gave the fellow-athletes good tips on what to do and not to do while running the Meiringspoort 21.1km. Bruce was also involved in the price giving ceremony.
This is what Bruce had to say about the race:
"I just loved the race, as always. I would love to participate again, it will be an honour. Meiringspoort is a very unique race and very special in every way. Nature is just awesome, beautiful every moment. I loved the whole experience. The lowlight is the hill at the end! But that's the Polly Shorts of Meiringspoort. I don't think the event orgainisers can improve much, but they will make it even more successful. Keep up the excellent work year-on-year. I truly enjoy the hospitality of the De Rust people. I forgive them all for not giving me a ride when I hitched through De Rust in 1974 after my matric rave. That's many moons ago. Just for the record, I waited 7 hours in De Rust! All is forgiven. I also enjoyed the VIP-area though I also wanted to “kuier” with other people but got dragged away. From the beginning to the end, it is and will always be a special event."
