Donated Blankets - 2014
As you know, is it snappy cold at 05:00 in October in De Rust. The athletes have the opportunity to buy a fleecy blanket, or bring their own, to warm them up during the ride on an open truck or ostrich lorry, through Meiringspoort. At the starting points, there are bins where the athletes drop the blankets, to be handed out to the community in and around De Rust. We all make a difference. By handing out blankets, make you appreciate the small things in life.
DE RUST DIEREKLINIEK
This year, blankets were handed to Dr Garth Ryder from De Rust Dierekliniek. Dr Garth use the blankets in the veterinary service he renders to the animals in De Rust. During 2014, Dr Garth treated at least 550 sick cats and dogs for free, as part of his plow-back community project. See article as published in local news paper, under Media Clippings.

During the Winter of 2015, warm workers and their families, within De Rust, will be able to sleep warm and cozy. Blankets were distributed to all the farm workers of Delport Broers Boerdery in Middelplaas, De Rust. All the workers received a blanket for all the members of the family, from the youngest baby to the oldest grand parent. Blankets were also handed out to all the farm workers, working on the farms of OJH-Boerdery, in De Hoop and Rooirivier districts. For sure a feel good moment!
